The first time I saw the Jetset Kings I knew I wanted them to play at my wedding (and this was before I was even engaged).  The band was so energetic, had so much character, and was so much fun.  And Booker’s soothing voice is like no other.  In no time the dance floor was flooded with people.  When I did get engaged, my first contact was the JetsetKings to see if they were available for our wedding party; I was thrilled when they said yes.  Little did they know the challenge that awaited them.

Our wedding reception was held in the lobby of an old art deco building in downtown Tulsa.  The ceilings are at least 30 feet high, and a good portion of the room is covered in marble.  Needless to say, the acoustics are less than desirable (ok – they’re awful).  After a lunch meeting with Mike and Booker, Mike and I walked to the building to check out the space.  After doing a clap test to determine how bad the acoustics were, Mike assured me they could make it work.

The day of our wedding the band arrived at noon to set up and do a sound check.  A sound check normally takes them about 2 hours; for this room, it took them nearly four and a half hours.  My fiancé and I were so nervous about how loud it would be once the band started, we worried that a good portion of our guests would leave (in fact, my mom told me once the band started she and my dad would leave because they were too old for loud music).  We even bought ear plugs to place on each table for guests to wear to muffle the sound.

However, the minute they started to play it was perfect.  The sound was spectacular.  The dance floor was fantastic.  EVERYTHING was amazing.  Our wedding party was a success because of the Jetset Kings.  All night long our friends and family kept asking, “Who is this band?  They are awesome!”  Even my parents, who said they would be leaving when the band started, stayed and danced and had a fabulous time.  The dance floor was packed until the band played their last song at midnight.

The Jetset Kings were truly an amazing group of people to work with, and I’d hire them again in an instant for any party.  They were professional, courteous and were the reason our wedding was such a success.  A DJ could not have created the atmosphere that the Jetset Kings created for our party.  I would highly recommend hiring the Jetset Kings to anyone who asks.
